Chris Schmidt

Chris Schmidt, morning and weeknight show host for Hail Varsity Radio, was born to talk all things sports. As a child raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, he and his family attended Husker games come rain or shine. There, his passion for football grew. In 2008, he broke into sports radio with Aaron and Mike Babcock by his side. For more than 10 years, “Schmidty” has given listeners nothing but colorful interviews and expert reporting. He was recognized in 2021 as the NSMA Nebraska Sportscaster of the Year and is always supported by his partner Erin and their son, Carson.
