RB Grahm Roberts has Time Frame for Commitment Decision

April 22, 2017

Running back Grahm Roberts already has a tie to Nebraska. His older brother – linebacker Avery Roberts – is an early enrollee in the Huskers’ 2017 recruiting class.

Roberts was on hand at Memorial Stadium for the spring game, taking the experience in for himself. While he says his brother is happy to offer advice, he’s set on making the decision himself.

“Everyone has their own experience,” Robersts said. “I feel like I’m going through it and everything is going right for me.”

Roberts is currently considered a 3-star running back with an 86.5 rating, according to Hail Varsity’s national composite. With limited numbers in Nebraska’s 2018 recruiting class, Roberts doesn’t plan to wait too long to make his decision. He even has a time fame in mind at this point.

“I think some time soon, or by the beginning of my senior year,” Grahm said.

At 6-0 and 210 pounds, Roberts became key to Nebraska when T.J. Pledger committed to Oklahoma. As a junior, Roberts earned all-state honors as a running back. He also helped his high school team go 7-4 during the 2016 season.

During his spring game visit, Roberts did his best to take everything in for himself. He called Memorial Stadium “a really good place to be” and was particularly impressed by the fans.

“When the players came out, they way the fans embraced them and everything,” Roberts said. “It felt good.”

He also couldn’t get over the fact that more than 70,000 fans showed up for what was essentially a practice. That alone seemed to make quite the impression on Roberts.

“They all show how everything revolves around football,” Roberts said. “They love it and support the team.”

With a time frame in mind and his own Nebraska experience to pull from, the Huskers appear to be in good shape for Roberts’ commitment. The way it looks now, it could simply be a matter of time.
