The 2017 Nebraska recruiting class took a hit on Sunday as defensive tackle Deiontae Watts won’t being playing for the Huskers in 2017 a source close to the 3-star defensive tackle told Hail Varsity.

The source said that Watts did not qualify academically at Nebraska and had signed with Fort Scott Community College in Kansas, though his future there is somewhat uncertain at the moment.

Watts, from Texas prep powerhouse Plano East, was one of four defensive line signees in the 2017 class. The Huskers signed two other high school defensive tackles in the class, Damion Daniels and Deontre Thomas.
