Where the Huskers Turn Next at WR for 2018

The world of recruiting is always full of twists and turns.

The news of 4-star wide receiver Manny Allen decommitting from Nebraska and immediately committing to Louisville was a surprise Thursday evening that left many scratching their heads.

The wideout from Corona, California, had been a long-time Nebraska pledge and was not on the radar to leave Nebraska’s class. With that being said, there are a lot of names at the position for you to keep an eye on as potential replacements for Allen.

1. Tommy Bush is a 4-star from Texas who confirmed to Hail Varsity earlier today that he will be taking an official visit to Lincoln for the Wisconsin game on Oct. 7. He’s a fantastic athlete and is a good route runner despite not having played the position full-time in high school.

2. Jalen Hall is a high 4-star from Long Beach, California, who was at one point rated as the number one receiver in the 2018 class. The rangy player (6-3, 185) would be an immediate red-zone threat for Nebraska. Pulling him out of California and away from USC will be tough, but he is looking to set up an official visit.

3. Isaah Crocker is a name I’ve mentioned before as a high-priority target for Nebraska. The 4-star from California is a smooth route runner and plans to be in attendance for the season opener against Arkansas State on September 2nd.

4. Kamryn Babb has long been one of the top names on the board at wide receiver for Nebraska. The 4-star teammate of current Huskers commit Cameron Brown is a great prospect with more than 25 offers. He is injured and will miss his season after hurting his knee so that could throw a wrench into his recruitment.

5. Brian Hightower has been a Miami commit since shortly after he transferred to IMG Academy in Florida. Nebraska has a long history with him, as they were one of the first schools to offer him. Nebraska would love to host Hightower for an official visit this season. Don’t be surprised if he makes a low-key trip to Lincoln.

The Huskers still have two high-profile commits at wide receiver with Joshua Moore and Brown but will now look to add at least two more names to that list before February.
