The Huskers got a late-night, surprise commitment from 3-star wide receiver Dominick Watt‍ out of Hollywood, Florida, Thursday night. Watt tweeted out earlier in the night that he had a midnight (Eastern time) birthday surprise, but no one saw it coming that he would be joining the Nebraska class.

He gave Husker Nation a present when he tweeted out a heartfelt message committing to the Huskers.

Watt became the second commitment of the night for Nebraska, who earlier in the evening picked up 3-star athlete Miles Jones. Making the commitment even more surprising is the fact that he has not taken an official visit to Lincoln yet. He was originally scheduled to be on campus in December before the dead period but his visit was pushed back, then scheduled for Feb. 2, the last visit weekend before signing day. At this point, it’s unclear whether or not he will still use that official visit.

He had a final six of Louisville, USF, Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Kentucky and Nebraska, and held more than 20 total scholarship offers. He becomes the sixth Florida native in the recruiting class joining Mike Williams, Deontai Williams, CJ Smith, Justin McGriff and Miles Jones. It is rumored that Scott Frost went in-home with Watt after visiting Jones and securing his commitment.

Watt is now the 18th member of the 2018 Nebraska recruiting class.
