According to SoonerScoop.com's Carey Murdock, the strain is heading to another Lincoln.

Bob Diaco, the Huskers defensive coordinator last season, has been hired by Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley as a defensive analyst.

Two seasons ago, Diaco was a head coach at UConn. Following a one-year stint in Lincoln, he's now an analyst trying to revive his career. Last season with the Huskers, Diaco tried to transition Nebraska from a 4-3 defense into his own 3-4 scheme and the results were historically bad.

The Huskers gave up 436.2 yards per game (101st in the country), and an unsightly 6.34 yards per play. All three of the Huskers’ final three opponents gained more than 500 yards. Nebraska's last six opponents all gained over 200 yards on the ground and on four different occasions Nebraska gave up 50 points or more, the most in a single season.

Diaco joins a defensive staff in Norman that also includes another former defensive coordinator-turned assistant in Ruffin McNeill. The Sooners finished last season 67th in total defense at 394.9 yards surrendered a game.
