Nebraska has its man at the quarterback spot for the class of 2019.

Four-star quarterback Luke McCaffrey‍ out of Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, became the seventh member of the 2019 recruiting class on Monday. He made his announcement via Twitter:

As a junior last year, the youngest of the McCaffrey brothers completed 54-of-71 passes for 878 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions. He has not been a full-time starter yet for his high school as he sat behind Colorado signee Blake Stenstrom last season. Before sitting behind Stenstrom, he was also behind his brother Dylan, a 5-star quarterback now at Michigan.

That doesn’t mean that McCaffery hasn’t seen the field at all. While waiting for his turn as the full-time quarterback, he has seen time at wide receiver, safety, running back and as a return man. McCaffrey is a fantastic athlete that Mario Verduzco and Scott Frost will get to mold into the type of quarterback tailor-made for their system.

McCaffrey visited Nebraska for the first Junior Day back in the spring. He visited Virginia and North Carolina plus had offers from UCLA, Ohio State and Michigan among others.
