Nebraska Commit Garrett Snodgrass Has Fun in Lincoln Despite Rainout

There were more than just Nebraska targets on the sideline checking out the sights and sounds of Memorial Stadium on Saturday. A few of Nebraska's commits for the class of 2019 were also on hand trying to see the debut of the Scott Frost Era.

One of those commits was York 3-star (HV Rating: 85.3) athlete Garrett Snodgrass‍. The do-it-all athlete said he will be a fixture at Memorial Stadium on game days and plans to attend every one this season.

His York Dukes are also off to a hot start this season. I was in attendance for the team's last game against Blair. York won 50-28.

I was able to catch up with Snodgrass on Monday to get his thoughts on the new game day atmosphere in Lincoln.

What were your overall thoughts on the game day experience?

“It was good. The new staff did some new and different things with the recruits than the other staff which I liked better. It was good. Well, all the way up until the delay. It was really fun. It was nice to get to talk to all the people and watch warm-ups. Then we just went and hung out in the players' lounge. It wasn’t terrible but obviously it could have been better if they played a game.”

Did you get to spend any extra time with the staff during the delay?

“All the staff I assume was pretty busy with figuring stuff out with the game. I got to spend more time with the other recruits, just hanging out. It was pretty fun to be honest. We were basically hanging out in the lounge for a while which isn’t terrible at all. It was pretty fun.”

How is your season starting so far?

“We’ve had some really good practices. We are just improving every single day in practice so far. Our first two games went really well. We will have a much tougher game this week with McCook. We are all pretty excited about that. [The season] started out about as good as it could. Everyone’s been healthy too. We are just trying to keep it going.”

Have you discussed your position in college further with the staff?

“Yeah, I’ve basically been talking to [inside linebacker] coach [Barrett] Ruud a bunch. I’ve talked to [tight ends] coach [Sean] Beckton when we go take visits and stuff but I haven’t really talked to him much outside of when I’m down in Lincoln. It’s mostly talking to Coach Ruud. Position doesn’t matter to me though. Wherever I make the most impact is where I’d like to play."
