The Huskers (4-3-2, 0-0-1 Big Ten) opened Big Ten play Friday with a 1-1 draw on the road against Rutgers (4-1-3, 0-0-1 Big Ten).

Senior midfielder Savanah Uveges got things started for the Huskers in the 22nd minute when she netted her fourth goal of the season from the penalty spot. She not only leads the team in goals scored, but she's also tied with junior central midfielder Brenna Ochoa for the team lead in assists (three). With 11 points now on the season, Uveges has recorded at least one point in six of the team's nine games so far.

Closing proved to be an issue once again Friday as the Scarlet Knights equalized in the 86th minute when Rutger midfielder Taylor Aylmer found the back of the net off a rebounded ball. Rutgers put pressure on Nebraska the entire second half and outshot the Huskers by a 17-7 margin, with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The late goal marked the third surrendered by the Huskers in the final ten minutes of regulation this season. Nebraska has led at halftime in seven of nine contests but only holds a 3-2-2 record in those matches.

Junior goalkeeper Aubrei Corder notched six saves, tying her season-high. She surpassed the 150-career save milestone on Friday night and tied Kate Wright (2003-04) for fifth on NU’s career saves list with 153.

The Huskers conclude their weekend trip on Sunday when they visit Maryland (2-3-3) at 12 p.m. CT.
