Nebraska Recruiting: 4-star ATH Darien Chase Commits To Huskers

October 25, 2018

Nebraska just got faster.

On Thursday, 4-star (HV Rating: 92.1) ATH Darien Chase‍ joined the 2019 Huskers recruiting class. Chase revealed his decision on Twitter.

The two-way standout for Union High School in Vancouver, Washington, took his official visit to Nebraska for the Minnesota game. Nebraska likes him at wide receiver. He had a great time on the visit, he told Hail Varsity Wednesday night.

“Highlights of the visit for me were meeting all the coaches and players, the fans and just being at the game being in that environment.”

Prior to the visit, Chase said that it he was most looking forward to spending time with the coaches and players. During the visit, the coaches he talked to the most were coach Scott Frost, offensive coordinator Troy Walters and [offensive quality control Steve] Cooper.

“It went great. I got along with them well and they’re good people.”

Chase took official visits to both Boise State and Utah. The Huskers now have two wide receivers in the class with Chase joining Oklahoma native Jamie Nance. Nebraska will still look to sign one more wide receiver this cycle. He is the 18th known commitment of the 2019 class.

The speedy pass-catcher also has ties to the Huskers with family on his mom’s side that went to Nebraska, as well as his mom’s best friend.
