On Friday, Nebraska garnered a little recognition from the Big Ten conference with four Huskers named to All-Big Ten teams.

For the second straight year, defender Sinclaire Miramontez earned a spot on the All-Big Ten first team. Miramontez, a junior from Lenexa, Kansas, was also a member of the All-Freshman Team in 2016. The center back started the first 17 games for Nebraska before an injury against Wisconsin on Oct. 18 forced her out for the remainder of the year.

Senior forward Faith Carter collected second-team honors from the conference after a season in which she scored a team-high nine goals. Her scoring ranked third in the Big Ten (just one goal shy of the conference lead) and her 20 points (two points for a goal, one point for an assist) was tied for fifth. After scoring one goal through the first six games, Carter scored eight goals over the next 13 games, highlighted by a hat trick against Indiana on Sept. 20.

Senior midfielder Savanah Uveges earned a spot on the All-Big Ten third team. Like Carter, Uveges also tallied 20 points during the regular season thanks to eight goals scored (fourth-most in the Big Ten). Uveges recorded at least one point in 11 of Nebraska’s 19 games during the regular season.

Freshman midfielder Kenzie Coons also earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team. An Omaha native, Coons appeared in every match for Nebraska this season but as the campaign wore on she was able to push her way into the starting eleven. In total, she made 10 starts with one goal scored and one assist.

With the four selections, the Huskers' all-time total for all-conference honors is up to 96, with 26 coming since joining the Big Ten in 2011. Miramontez's first-team nod is the 50th in program history.

The sixth-seeded Huskers (9-6-4, 5-3-3 Big Ten) begin postseason play in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament at No. 2 seed Ohio State (9-5-3, 6-2-3 Big Ten) on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT on BTN.
