Nebraska Recruiting: Tony Fair Leaves 2019 Class

December 7, 2018

During the 2019 recruiting cycle, Nebraska has had very few players give a verbal commitment then back out of the class later. One more can be added to that short list. On Friday, Pima Community College defensive tackle Tony Fair‍ announced he was leaving the class on Twitter.

Fair is originally from South Bend, Indiana, and committed to Nebraska on July 19. As he said in his tweet, Fair had a heavy course load to make it to Lincoln academically this season. Unfortunately, things will not work out for Fair and Nebraska.

On a related note, it has been widely reported that defensive tackle Darrion Daniels will be transferring to Nebraska from Oklahoma State. In 2017 Fair recorded 98 tackles. This season was a down one for him as he ended with 46 tackles and two sacks.

Nebraska now sits with 22 verbal commitments as the early signing period nears.
