The Huskers just added a huge piece on their defensive line.

On Wednesday at a ceremony at his high school, 4-star (HV Rating: 92.6) defensive end Ty Robinson‍ announced that he is committing to Nebraska.

The Higley High star and U.S. Army All-American, who stands at 6-foot-5 and 275-pounds, made several trips to Lincoln after Scott Frost and his staff took over the program. Back in November after the Michigan State game that he took his official visit to, he left impressed with the atmosphere after the game.

“I saw all the players getting hyped running back into the tunnel,” Robinson said. “The fans were going crazy dancing. You could truly tell the passion and how the state bleeds Nebraska red. Going in and listening to Coach Frost talk to the players and seniors after the game. He told them all they’ve done to change the program in a year or really half the year in the second half of the season. It was amazing.”

The Nebraska coaching staff is understandably excited about landing Robinson. They showed just how much they wanted him when they sent every assistant coach and Frost to his school during the contact period for a single visit. It was a tough battle to land Robinson who is a class 3-4 defensive end. He held over 20 scholarship offers and took official visits to Cal, Oregon, Alabama, USC and Nebraska. The Huskers won his signature over Oregon, USC and Alabama.

Robinson will enroll this summer.
