Where Nebraska Ranks in the 2019 Way-Too-Early Top 25 Polls

It has been less than 24 hours since the College Football Playoff National Championship game, but predictions are already underway for the 2019 season. The next several months will be full of coaching changes and storylines. For Husker fans, there is a buzz of optimism as they look toward August and it is fueled by recognition from national polls. 

Let’s take a look at where Nebraska ranks.

ESPN

Where Nebraska ranks in 2019: No. 24

Nebraska is the sixth Big Ten team in this poll behind Ohio State (4th), Michigan (11th), Penn State (17th), Northwestern (19th), and Wisconsin (21st).

CBS has the Huskers sandwiched right between Wisconsin (17th) and Iowa (20th).

Nebraska is third in a row for Big Ten West teams on Athlon Sports list. The Huskers follow Iowa (17th) and Wisconsin (18th).

The Huskers didn’t quite make the cut for Sports Illustrated –– Ohio State (4), Michigan (7), Penn State (14), Wisconsin (17), Iowa (18), Northwestern (20) and Michigan State (23) did from the Big Ten –– but Nebraska was in the “next in line” category with Arizona, Utah State, USC, Mississippi State and Washington State.
