The Huskers just added a big-hitter to their secondary.

Noa Pola-Gates‍, a 4-star (HV Rating: 91.1) defensive back from Gilbert, Arizona, announced that he has joined the Nebraska recruiting class at the Polynesian Bowl.

“I’d say the fans and the coaching staff and how bonded they were,” Pola-Gates said about his decision during the CBS Sports Network broadcast.

But it’s more than just a commitment for Pola-Gates. The Huskers quickly tweeted out after the commitment that he has already signed his letter of intent.

The versatile defensive back from Williams Field High School took his official visit to Nebraska back in October for the win over Minnesota. It was a family affair that weekend as he had a large group in Lincoln. He also had the opportunity to spend time with his cousin who is going to play softball for the Huskers.

In 12 games as a senior at Williams Field, Pola-Gates had 57 tackles, five interceptions, seven pass breakups, one kick return touchdown and a blocked kick. He has a lean and wiry frame and is a very good athlete who likes to make big hits (as we saw in the U.S. All American Game).

Nebraska won the commitment of Pola-Gates over home-state Arizona State, as well as USC. He also took official visits to Penn State and Alabama. He joins defensive backs Javin Wright, Quinton Newsome and Myles Farmer as additions to Travis Fisher’s position room.

He will enroll at Nebraska this summer.
