Highland Community College DL Green Commits To Huskers

The Huskers just added some serious size to their defensive line.

Over the weekend, Highland Community College defensive lineman Jahkeem Green‍  was in Lincoln for an official visit. It was his second trip to Lincoln in three weeks and on this trip to check out the spring game, he committed to Nebraska.

What’s unique about Green is that he is a 2019 recruit. He is out of junior college eligibility so since he committed to Nebraska, he would be able to join the team this summer if he fulfills his academic requirements. That would put him in the mix for playing time this fall on the defensive line.

On Monday evening, Hail Varsity reached his coach, Judd Remmers, who came with Green on the official visit, to see what the strengths of Green’s game are.

“His overall strength & ability to use his hands to get separation, get off a block and make a play,” Remmers said.

Green puts Nebraska in a unique position along the defensive line. He is a three-for-two player meaning he has three years left to play two seasons. He does have a redshirt season available which is where the 4-game redshirt rule could come in handy should the Huskers go that route with him.

Two weeks ago, the Huskers used an official visit on 4-star defensive tackle Nash Hutmacher who is a top target for the 2020 class. Jamar Sekona, a 4-star defensive lineman from California was also on campus for the spring game for an unofficial visit.

There will be more to come on this commitment for Nebraska.
