Recruiting never stops and it's easy to miss the top stories day-to-day. Recruiting analyst Greg Smith recaps all things Nebraska recruiting news, analysis and more so you never miss a thing.

Running back talk has fully heated up in Lincoln. The conversation for now is mostly centered around the pending status of both sophomore Maurice Washington and incoming junior college running back Dedrick Mills. One of the biggest current questions looming over Nebraska is who will be available at running back for the 2019 season.

Putting that running back discussion aside for a second, let’s pick up a different one for just a minute. Let’s talk 2020 running back recruiting.

We have talked here before about the confidence that everyone has in running backs coach Ryan Held to get quality backs to Lincoln on a yearly basis. Held feels that being a running back at Nebraska is a special thing and he recruits with that in mind. A prospect that the Huskers are high on for this class is Oklahoma native Sevion Morrison‍.

Morrison was highly productive during his junior season, finishing with 2,761 rushing yards and 38 total touchdowns. The Edison Prep ball carrier has seen his recruitment take off and now holds over 20 scholarship offers. He’s going to start taking more visits soon and told Hail Varsity on Monday that he is “90 percent sure” he is going to be in Lincoln on June 21. It sounds like Nebraska will hold another VIP event before the Friday Night Lights camp like they did last year.

Morrison also said that the coaching staff at Nebraska is the big reason he is interested in the Huskers. He is also familiar with Oklahoma natives Jamie Nance and Demariyon Houston, plus he is becoming friends with Wan’Dale Robinson.

There are a lot of schools contacting Morrison at this point but Oklahoma, Kansas, Baylor and LSU are some of the schools he’s looking to visit along with Nebraska.

It also just so happens that Held is making the rounds in Oklahoma to start this week of the evaluation period.
