Maurice Washington Cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

June 4, 2019

Nebraska running back Maurice Washington was cited by University of Nebraska — Lincoln police Tuesday morning for the possession of drug paraphernalia, UNLPD confirmed to Hail Varsity.

UNLPD was called to the University Suites on 17th and R in Lincoln early Tuesday morning after the odor of marijuana was reported to emanate from his dorm room. Washington was then cited with possession or use of drug paraphernalia by police after a pipe with burned residue was found when they entered. He was cited and released.

A representative from Nebraska responded to Hail Varsity’s request for comment on the matter.

“We are aware of the situation and are addressing it,” the statement said.

Washington is also currently facing a felony charge in California of distribution of child pornography, as well as a misdemeanor charge under California’s “Revenge Porn” law. He is scheduled to be back in court in California on June 12.
