The final hurdle has been cleared. Junior college transfer defensive lineman Jahkeem Green‍ has been admitted to Nebraska, a university spokesman confirmed to Hail Varsity.

We previously reported when Green reaffirmed his commitment to Nebraska. We were also able to share last week that Green was expected in Lincoln soon but that his transcripts and paperwork had to go through first.

With it official, what type of athlete is Nebraska getting? Highlands Community College assistant coach Judd Remmers previously shared a little insight on Green’s strengths with Hail Varsity.

“His overall strength and ability to use his hands to get separation, get off a block and make a play,” Remmers said.

Green is expected to begin practicing with the team as early as midweek. With the academic hurdles gone, the on-field work begins for the lineman who must get up to speed quickly on the playbook. It will also be interesting to see what type of physical shape Green is in. That and the playbook will be key for Green to getting on the field this season for the Huskers.

Green took two trips to Lincoln this spring. The second trip was an official visit for the spring game, where he committed to Nebraska. There was some uncertainty with his commitment following an official visit to Texas Tech but Green ultimately decided that Nebraska was the place for him.
