The Big Ten released conference basketball schedules on Friday which means Nebraska’s 2019-20 schedule is officially set.

The schedule includes five weekend home games — three on Saturday and two on Sunday — plus another four weekend games on the road.

Nebraska’s mid-December conference games will send the Huskers to Bloomington on Dec. 13 to take on Indiana before returning home to host Purdue on Dec. 15. The Huskers will have two more nonconference games before diving fully into the league schedule on Jan. 3 with a home game against Rutgers.

Nebraska’s senior day will be on March 1 against Northwestern before the Huskers close out the regular season with two more games on the road, at Michigan and at Minnesota.

This year’s schedule has the Huskers facing Indiana, Rutgers, Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan twice apiece while they will take on the remaining six teams — including likely preseason favorite Michigan State — once each. Nebraska will host Purdue, Penn State and Michigan State and will travel to Maryland, Illinois and Minnesota.

The Huskers will not face a team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season during the nonconference schedule but the Big Ten will offer 12 games against such teams.

The Spartans and Boilermakers were co-regular season champions last season while Michigan State won the Big Ten Tournament and advanced to the Final Four. Michigan State will likely start the season atop the national preseason polls thanks to a strong returning cast led by 2018 Big Ten Player of the Year Cassius Winston. Purdue made it to the Elite Eight last season but lost the conference’s leading scorer in Carsen Edwards.

Michigan, who the Huskers play twice, made it to the Sweet 16 before falling to eventual national runner-up Texas Tech but lost Coach John Beilein as well as its top three scorers to the NBA. The Wolverines hired Fab Five member and long-time NBA player Juwan Howard to replace Beilein as their head coach.

This year’s Big Ten Tournament will take place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis March 11-15.

Season tickets are already sold out for Year 1 of Fred Hoiberg’s tenure.
