Huskers Open as a 7.5-Point Favorite over Colorado

September 1, 2019

Nebraska opened as a 7.5-point favorite over Colorado on Saturday afternoon, but within three hours the number was down to Huskers -5.5. The opening total of 62.5 points rose to 64 over that same span.

The Huskers went off as a 36-point favorite against South Alabama on Saturday, but struggled to find their footing on offense in the 35-14 win. Defense and special teams accounted for three of Nebraska's five touchdowns on the day.

Colorado beat Colorado State 52-31 on Friday. It was the Buffs' highest point total since scoring 56 on Idaho State in 2016. Colorado averaged 7.9 yards per play in the win, including 6.1 per rush.

Nebraska was a 3-point home favorite against Colorado last season, the Huskers' season opener after the Akron game was cancelled. The Buffs won that one 33-28. Nebraska lost again the next week as a favorite to Troy. Since then, the Huskers are 5-0 as a favorite under Scott Frost.

This is the Huskers' first game as a road favorite since Nebraska was -6 at Illinois in Week 4 of 2016. Nebraska won that game 28-6.
