The Huskers have just added a junior college inside linebacker for the 2020 cycle.

On Tuesday, Independence Community College 3-star (HV Rating 88.0) inside linebacker Jamoi Hodge‍ committed top Nebraska. He announced his decision via Twitter.

Hodge took an official visit to Nebraska during the weekend of the matchup with Wisconsin. Following that visit he told Hail Varsity that he was ‘pretty much shocked’ by what he found at Nebraska.

“I liked it,” Hodge told Hail Varsity after his visit. “It pretty much shocked me. I didn’t know they had that much to offer. On and off the field, academic and football-wise. I didn’t know they are getting a new weight room just for football. I didn’t know that. The fans shocked me, too. I knew they had a good fan base but I didn’t know they had one like that. They stayed the whole game. I’ve never seen that in person before. Usually when a game is basically over with five minutes left, people start walking out. From what I saw, most of them stayed and kept on the whole game.”

The Huskers see the 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker as an inside linebacker. He shows good athleticism on film which is needed for the Huskers defense in 2020. In seven games played this season Hodge posted 32 total tackes with a sack and two tackles for loss.

The linebacker held more than a dozen scholarship offers after seeing his stock rise recently. He is a rare JUCO prospect in that he has four years to play three season. He will enroll in January at Nebraska.

The Huskers now have 14 known commitments for the class of 2020. Nebraska has offered a lot more JUCO players as of late. So, Hodge may not be the last one we see added to the 2020 class before December.
