When Husker Prospects are Expected to Commit

January 24, 2017

National Signing Day will be here before we know it, which means commitments could happen at any moment now for Nebraska. While there’s always a chance that a prospect could commit when least expected, we do have a pretty good idea of when announcements will happen. To help make it easy, we’ve broken down when each recruit is expected to announce, along with whom they are still considering.

As for those that haven’t directly confirmed their commitment date, we’ve also listed them with our best guess on when they’ll announce.

Wednesday, Jan 25

Nick Robinson | TE | Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Decision: Arizona State, Central Michigan, Memphis, Nebraska

(Update: Robinson committed to Memphis.)

National Signing Day (Wednesday, Feb. 1)

Elijah Blades | CB | Pasadena, California

Elijah Blades is currently committed to Florida, but the Huskers have made a late push for the talented cornerback. He’s stated in multiple interviews that he plans to make his final decision on National Signing Days.

Decision: Florida, Nebraska

Joseph Lewis | WR | Los Angeles, California

Lewis plans to make his final decision live on MaxPreps.com.

Decision: Nebraska, Oregon, USC

Deommodore Lenoir | CB | Los Angeles, California

Decision: Nebraska, Oregon, Mississippi State

Michael Onyemaobi | ATH | Temecula, California

Decision: Iowa State, Nebraska, TCU, UNLV, Washington State

Greg Johnson | ATH | Los Angeles, California

Like Lewis, Greg Johnson will be announcing his decision on National Signing Day live on MaxPreps.com.

Decision: Nebraska, USC

Damion Daniels | DT | Dallas, Texas

Defensive tackle Damion Daniels plans to make his announcement on National Signing Day. He was recently unconfirmed as to when he’d break the news, but he cleared that up by selecting Feb. 1.

Decision: Colorado, Nebraska, Texas – San Antonio

Undetermined

Jamire Calvin | WR | Los Angeles, California

Wide receiver target Jamire Calvin has had quite the journey so far. He was expected to commit to Nebraska and then didn’t, instead selecting Oregon State at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He later decommitted and has since been vague about when and where he’ll commit.

He’s expected to make his final decision on National Signing Day, but recent tweets make it seem like he could pull the trigger at any moment.

Decision: Nebraska, Washington State

(Update: Calvin committed to Nebraska on Jan. 27.)

Bryan Thompson | WR | Moreno Valley, California

Bryan Thompson was committed to Boise State but decommitted earlier in January. As a result, he’s compiled quite a list of options. He’s expected to announce on National Signing Day but hasn’t directly confirmed it.

Decision: Boise State, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA, Utah, Washington State

Jeremiah Hawkins | ATH | Buena Park, California

While Nebraska is still in the mix for Jeremiah Hawkins, he has not decommitted from Cal. With that in mind, it’s believed that if he were to flip, it will happen on National Signing Day.

Decision: Cal, Nebraska

Kurt Rafdal | TE | Carmel, Indiana

Tight Kurt Rafdal was originally committed to Indiana but decommitted in early January. He’s now down to three programs – including Nebraska – and is expected (but not confirmed) to make his final decision on National Signing Day.

Decision: Iowa, LSU, Nebraska
