Nebraska Announces Fall Semester Updates Due to COVID-19

May 29, 2020

Nebraska is following the likes of universities like South Carolina, Notre Dame and Oklahoma and putting a plan in place for the fall semester.

Originally scheduled to begin classes Monday, Aug. 24, Nebraska has bumped the start date of classes up one week to Aug. 17. That first week will be “remote asynchronus instruction” and in-person classes will begin Aug. 24. Additionally, Nebraska has canceled fall break, will hold classes on Labor Day and will end all in-person classes, including finals, at Thanksgiving break (Wednesday, Nov. 25). Here’s the full schedule as currently planned:

Nebraska will then offer a three-week remote sessions, allowing for enhanced opportunities for students. This is called a “Fall Mini Session” and will run from Nov. 30-Dec. 18.
