DE Guy Thomas Sticks with Nebraska

Nebraska's 2017 signing day got a nice boost as Florida defensive end Guy Thomas (3-star, 87.9) stuck with his Nebraska commitment. Thomas made it official at an announcement ceremony at Miami's Booker T. Washington High School on Wednesday morning.

Thomas verbally committed to Nebraska last August without having visited Lincoln. He finally made that trip earlier this month, but had official visits to Pittsburgh and Louisville after he visited Nebraska. That combined with some comments from Thomas's brothers, key advisors in this decision, indicated that a signing-day flip could be coming.

Instead defensive line coach John Parrella's class remained solid with three commits. In December, Nebraska lost out on Orlando, Florida, defensive end Robert Porcher IV, who decommitted from Nebraska and ended up picking Virginia Tech.

The Huskers should have one decent shot to add to the class up front when Texas defensive tackle Damion Daniels announces his choice in the 10 a.m. hour on ESPNU. Daniels is choosing between Colorado, Nebraska and Texas-San Antonio.
