The Huskers picked up their second 2024 verbal commitment in less than a week — and first from an in-state player — as Bennington defensive specialist Olivia Mauch announced her commitment on Twitter.
STAYING HOME!! I’m extremely excited to announce that I have verbally committed to play volleyball for The University of Nebraska! I want to thank my coaches and teammates @Premier_VB for always challenging me, but most of all my family for always believing in me! #GBR❤️🌽 pic.twitter.com/YaTNWFd5Ou

Mauch is a 5-foot-6 defensive specialist who is ranked 48th nationally in 2024 according to PrepVollyeball.com.
As a sophomore last season, Mauch averaged a ridiculous 7.7 digs per set (19.6 digs per match) and notched a .991 reception percentage for the Badgers. She played right away as a freshman in 2020-21, averaging 6.0 digs per set.
Mauch is also one of 20 players selected for the USA Volleyball U19 Training Team that will compete next month for a spot on the U19 Pan American Cup roster. She’ll join Nebraska freshman Maggie Mendelson, 2023 commits Harper Murray, Bergan Reilly and Andi Jackson and fellow 2024 commit Skyler Pierce in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the training block July 6-15.
Pierce announced her commitment on Sunday, just a few days after the contact period for Division I coaches and the class of 2024 opened.
