Husker volleyball and head coach John Cook are red hot on the recruiting trail right now.
On Thursday, Harper Murray, a 2023 outside hitter from Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced she had committed to Nebraska volleyball.

According to PrepVolleyball.com, Murray is the No. 1 ranked prospect in her class, continuing a recruiting stretch for Cook that has seen the Huskers land commitments from Caroline Jurevicius, Bergen Reilly and Andi Jackson in the past month.
Jurevicius is the No. 6 recruit nationally by Prep Volleyball and Reilly is the No. 14 prospect nationally.
Nebraska’s success on the trail now is coming on the heels of signing arguably one of the best recruiting classes in college sports during the 2021 cycle. The Huskers’ class ranked No. 1 by Prep Volleyball; all six signees were ranked in the top 70 nationally by the site. That included five of the top 16, four of the top 10 and each of the top three recruits.
Nebraska went 16-3 on the court last season, with its year ending in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The Huskers’ 2021 season gets started with the Red-White Scrimmage, the first opportunity to see that 2021 class, on Saturday, August 21, at 6 p.m. CT.
Derek is a newbie on the Hail Varsity staff covering Husker athletics. In college, he was best known as ‘that guy from Twitter.’ He has covered a Sugar Bowl, a tennis national championship and almost everything in between (except an NCAA men’s basketball tournament game… *tears*). In his spare time, he can be found arguing with literally anyone about sports.
