PrepVolleyball.com has the 6-foot-4 Ames ranked as the best middle blocker in the country and fifth overall in the 2024 class. She averaged 3.6 kills per set on .245 hitting at Prosper during her sophomore season. She plays her club ball with TAV.
Like the previous two 2024 commits, Ames will be a member of the USA Volleyball U19 Training Team that will compete in Tulsa, Oklahoma, next month for a roster spot for the U19 Pan American Cup. USA Volleyball selected 20 players for the training team and seven of them are current or future Huskers: freshman Maggie Mendelson, 2023 commits Harper Murray, And Jackson and Bergen Reilly and 2024 commits Skyler Pierce, Olivia Mauch and Ames. USA Volleyball will select 12 players to compete in the Cup after the training block, July 6-15.
Nebraska’s 2024 class now includes the No. 5 (Ames), No. 9 (Pierce) and No. 48 (Mauch) prospects according to PrepVolleyball.com, and all three have committed within the last week.
