“The state of Nebraska produces some of the best volleyball talent in the country,” Coach John Cook said earlier this week. “We are committed to keeping the top kids here to play at home.”
Nebraska certainly did that in the 2021 recruiting cycle, signing the nation’s top recruiting class featuring three in-state recruits on Wednesday. Omaha Skutt outside hitter Lindsay Krause (27), Waverly Outside hitter Waverly Lauenstein (9) and Elkhorn South middle blocker Rylee Gray (14) all had outstanding senior seasons, and Hail Varsity staff photographer John Peterson captured some highlights for each of the future Huskers throughout the 2020 season.

Jacob Padilla has been writing for Hail Varsity since 2015. He covers football, volleyball men’s basketball and prep sports. He also co-hosts the Nebraska Preps Postgame and Nebraska Shootaround podcasts for the Hurrdat Media and Hail Varsity podcast networks. His love of basketball can best be described as an obsession and if you need to find him, he’s probably in a gym somewhere watching, coaching or playing hoops.
