Nebraska announced on Monday afternoon that the spring volleyball match against Northern Colorado, scheduled for April 25 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, has been canceled. The match sold out soon after tickets became available.
Tickets purchased online through ticketmaster.com or on the phone will be automatically refunded while tickets purchased in person can be returned to the Heartland Events Center box office for a refund.
This news follows the cancellation or suspension of nearly every other sporting event in the country in the near future, including all spring NCAA Championships and Big Ten competitions through the end of the year, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Nebraska returns 12 players from the 2019 team that went 28-5 and advanced to the Elite Eight before falling to conference rival Wisconsin. The Huskers did not have a single senior on the roster, but outside hitters Capri Davis and Anezka Szabo transferred to Texas and Kansas, respectively. Defensive specialists Chen Abramovich will transfer to Cal Poly and defensive specialist Megan Miller also entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
