Nebraska Secures 2023 Commitment from South Dakota Setter Bergen Reilly

July 15, 2021

Nebraska has received its first commitment for the 2023 class. Bergen Reilly, a 6-foot-1 setter from O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, announced her commitment on Thursday.

PrepVolleyball.com has Reilly ranked as the No. 14 overall recruit and No. 2 setter in the 2023 class. She attended the Nebraska Dream Team Camp over the weekend and committed to Coach John Cook and the Huskers on Monday night.

Reilly played opposite hitter for the 26-0 and state champion Knights as a sophomore, averaging 4.8 kills per set and 3.1 digs per set while hitting .304. She was named the 2020-21 Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year and was a MaxPreps Female High School Athlete of the Year finalist.

Reilly made her varsity debut as an eighth grader, splitting time at setter with her older sister Raegen, a freshman at North Dakota State, and leading the team with 5.1 assists. She split time again as a freshman, leading the Knights with 5.5 assists and chipping in 2.9 digs and 2.4 kills per set.

Reilly was one of 24 players selected to compete as part of the USA Volleyball 2021 Indoor Girls U18 National Training Team. The team will practice Saturday through July 23 in Anaheim, California, and 12 players will be selected to compete for the United States in the FIVB U18 World Championship Sept. 20-29 in Durango, Mexico. Waverly (Neb.) middle blocker Bekka Allick, a 2022 Nebraska commit, is also part of the training team.

Reilly plays her club volleyball for Kairos Elite and her team, Kairos 16 Adidas, won the Premier division championship at the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships last month with Reilly earning MVP honors.
