Nebraska announced back on Oct. 23 that Davis was taking an indefinite medical leave of absence from he team, which lasted for the rest of the season. Texas announced her signing on Twitter.

Davis, a 6-foot-1 sophomore from Mansfield, Texas, played in nine matches and 27 sets this season off the bench. She had played primarily in a rotation with freshman outside hitter Madi Kubik, providing an offensive spark in the front row. Davis averaged 1.41 kills per set on .174 hitting.

Davis put up a season-high 10 kills in the team’s opener against Creighton then followed that up with eight kills against UCLA. She missed the next two weeks (five matches) with an abdominal injury before returning to the court against Stanford in mid-September. She did not play against Rutgers while dealing with an illness but was back in the lineup when the Huskers returned home from New Jersey to take on Wisconsin. She played in two more matches after that.

As a freshman, Davis appeared in 26 matches (including three starts) and 69 sets, averaging 1.14 kills per set on .171 hitting.

Nebraska is set to return its entire team outside of Davis for 2020 as the Huskers did not have any seniors on the roster. Starting left sides Lexi Sun and Madi Kubik both return as does Riley Zuhn, who practiced at both middle blocker and outside hitter but played sparingly as a freshman. Nebraska adds one scholarship recruit in Kalynn Meyer, a middle blocker from Superior, Nebraska.
