WATCH: John Cook Talks NCAA Tournament, Early Match Times and More

February 09, 2021

You can count Coach John Cook in the group that is pumped about the entire NCAA volleyball tournament taking place in Omaha this spring. He is, however, not a fan of 11 a.m. start times for matches.

The Huskers’ Sunday, Feb. 21 match with Minnesota was moved from noon to 11 a.m. to accommodate “some rescheduling of Big Ten men’s basketball games,” per the conference. Cook prefers a day routine that leads into an evening match time, but Nebraska will make do.

As for the tournament in Omaha, he’s excited but does hope the NCAA is able to make the convention center feel less like a big club tournament. That might mean creating some small “arenas” inside the CHI Health Center Omaha or other solutions.

You can watch the full video from Cook below.
