Nebraska women's basketball coach Amy Williams addressed the media Monday morning.
The Huskers open the season with an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Pinnacle Bank Arena versus Nebraska-Kearney. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Williams said she hopes the team can use the exhibition to understand "the importance of every position," as well as the urgency needed on both offense and defense.
Williams also shared that Nebraska has a turnover-like chain that's awarded to the "Top Dog." (Skip to about 2:00 to hear more about the chain from Williams.) It's a gold chain that is awarded to the player that did the "gritty stuff" (deflections, screen assists, charges) the best in practice. She said the player with the chain can wear it how they please, even to class.
